Jeffrey and I are safe at the charming Ala Cozy motel in Coulee City (population 549), Washington, after a dramatic 68 mile ride from Wenatchee.  But we have only sporadic and slow Internet access via cell phone. Reportedly Web cable access is down throughout Grant County.  So for the first time in over 200 nights on the road, riding for human rights, we are unable to post an illustrated essay.

Please tune in again tomorrow to see a bit of what we saw today—mountains and valleys, deserts and wheat fields—and to meet a few of our new friends.
